Our KØlkin Coffee Story
🌊 For centuries, river navigators have understood the power of the eddy — a calm pocket where the current eases, allowing paddlers to rest, regroup, and chart their next course.
KØLKIN (the Danish word for “river eddy”) embodies that spirit. Like life’s journey, the river carries us forward — sometimes swiftly, sometimes through turbulent waters. The eddy is where we pause, reflect, and prepare for what’s ahead.
For over 11 years, Kolkin Coffee has been a proud part of the Southern Indiana and Louisville community, serving coffee as more than a drink — as a way to slow down, connect, and build lasting relationships.
Now, as the only active roaster in Jeffersonville, Indiana, we’re expanding beyond the café to grow into wholesale and distribution — fueling homes, cafés, restaurants, and offices across Kentuckiana with freshly roasted beans, local delivery, and an ever-growing online presence.
At the heart of Kolkin Coffee is Gary Almon, our CEO and Master Roaster. A passionate kayaker and advocate for outdoor wildlife, parks, and recreation, Gary brings the same respect for nature’s balance into every roast. His love for the outdoors and the river inspires the Kolkin mission: to be your eddy — a welcoming place to pause, recharge with community, and fuel your next adventure with the finest coffee we can craft.
